Margo Martindale was born and grew up in a small town in Texas known as Jacksonville on July 18, 1951. She is the youngest child of William Everett (her father) and Margaret Martindale (her mother). At the time of high school, she was always involved in singing, cheerleading, dancing, or acting. After graduating from high school in 1969, she attended Lon Morris College. In an interview, she said that she didn’t plan to become an actress until she was in college. After graduating from college, she moved to New York to pursue her career as an actress.

Margo Martindale started her career in acting in 1982, when she performed in Broadway. Her breakthrough came in 1983 in the off-Broadway production of “Steel Magnolias”, where she played the role of “Turvy Jones”. After that, she was recognized as a character actress.
